What is Casa Noé Mundo Animal?
Casa Noé is not just a zoo: it is also a rescue and rehabilitation center for exotic and wild animals that works with Chile's Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG). Many of its animals arrived injured, seized from illegal trafficking, rescued from circuses or handed over after being kept as pets. Those that can return to the wild are released; the rest stay at the park.
Its director and founder is Juan Carlos Muñoz Escobar, a Linares native who took in injured animals at home as a child. Today the park houses more than a thousand animals on about four hectares and is one of the most visited outings in Linares, with families coming from Talca, Chillán, Curicó, Concepción and Santiago.

Animals and attractions at Casa Noé
The tour is organised by areas. These are the ones children enjoy most (animals may vary, since the park takes in and releases animals throughout the year):
Big cats
Bengal tigers, lions, pumas and servals. They are the park's stars: arrive early, as they tend to sleep in the afternoon heat.
Birds and parrots
Colourful macaws, parrots, the burrowing parrot (Chile's largest parrot) and birds of prey. Many are in rehabilitation.
Primates
Monkeys, most of them rescued from being kept illegally as pets.
Reptiles and amphibians
Snakes, turtles, iguanas and other reptiles in terrariums children can look at up close.
Aquariums
Fish and aquatic species in an aquarium room, ideal for the little ones.
Nocturnal house
A dark room to see nocturnal animals. Warn children that it is dim inside.
Farm
Goats, sheep and rabbits. This is where the youngest can get close to the animals, always as the staff indicate.
And much more
A bear, camelids, canids and other species from five continents, plus the veterinary clinic where rescued animals are treated.

How to get to Casa Noé
Casa Noé is in the San Antonio area of Linares, on Camino Interior Aeródromo, next to the former airfield and near Villa Alcalde Luis Navarrete Carvacho, about 4 km from the main square.
By car it is about 10 minutes from downtown. Coming from Route 5, take the Linares exit and head towards the airfield area. Waze and Google Maps find it as «Casa Noé Mundo Animal».
Without a car, the easiest option is a taxi or shared taxi (colectivo) from downtown. The last stretch is partly a dirt road: drive slowly, as it gets dusty.
What parents should know before visiting Casa Noé
- 1Arrive early (10:00 to 12:00): it is cooler, less crowded and the big cats are more active.
- 2Plan 2 to 3 hours. With small children, end the tour at the farm, which they love most.
- 3Paths are dirt and gravel: wear comfortable shoes. A stroller with large wheels works better than one with small wheels.
- 4In summer the sun is strong: hats, sunscreen and water for everyone. In winter, after rain, it gets muddy: wear boots or shoes that can get dirty.
- 5Never let children put their hands into enclosures or feed the animals, except when staff allow it at the farm.
- 6Explain beforehand that it is a rescue center: many animals arrived injured or mistreated, so speak softly and do not bang on the glass.
- 7The nocturnal house is dark: little ones may get scared, go in holding their hand.
- 8Bring snacks and water. If you want lunch afterwards, Linares has good family options.
- 9Bring cash for admission and ask whether cards are accepted.
- 10Before going, check Instagram @zoocasanoe: closures due to rain, holidays and special events are announced there.
